Bed & Breakfast
Gate House is a traditional period house dating from the early 19th Century. The House is furnished to the highest standards and Ann has combined a look of luxury and tradition in the interior decoration. As true lovers of the Lake District, we endeavour to make everyone’s stay an enjoyable and memorable one, where everyone is encouraged to relax and unwind.
We always try and cater for each guest’s individual needs. Please tell us if you have any special requirements, whether by prior arrangement or during your stay, and we will do our best to have it ready for you.

Accommodation Facilities
Breakfast at Gate House is a friendly, informal occasion with plenty of choice to suit all our guests. As our B&B is small we can provide breakfast at a time best suited to you and your needs. Our breakfast is served each morning in the dining room.Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room up to 10.00am
We are proud of our extensive breakfasts. Using local produce where possible, they include locally farmed bacon, sausage and free-range eggs, quality fresh fruit and a range of teas and coffees.

Ann & Danny welcome you to Gate House bed & breakfast. Gate House is a traditional sandstone house situated in a quiet location in the village of Melmerby. We are less than a minute’s walk from the excellent local pub, The Shepherds Inn and Melmerby village bakery.Having lived in the Lake District for some years we have good local knowledge and we are only too happy to help you plan and make the most of your stay in one of England’s unspoilt areas.
