Maison Maurice, Chambre d’hote

A charming and sympathecially restored Charentaise farmhouse, award winning Maison Maurice is a small boutique style B&B with 4 individually decorated bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. A guests’ dining hall, beautiful garden and welcoming hosts complete the picture. Several bikers have been delighted with their previous stays with us.

45.565596,-0.48305 The beds are extremely comfortable abd dressed with good quality linen to ensure you have as good a night’s sleep as possible. Breakfast, with home made preserves, seasonal fruits and a choice of breads and coissants, is served outside on the terrace if the weather permits.

Table d’hote menu available on some nights -please ask and book in advance - and a nice option perhaps if you have been travelling all day. Priced at 30 euros this includes four courses, wine and a complimentary aperitif.

Excellent stay

Just a short distance from the motorway, when traveling from St. Malo to Spain via Bordeaux, with easy to follow instructions from the motorway, we were greeted by Adrian who directed the motorcycle safely around a compacted gravel drive to safe and secure parking in the garage.
From then on Adrian and Penny knew exactly what we needed after being buffetted by high winds for two days. penny is an excellent cook, both tea, supper and breakfast were superb with local and home-made produce, the accommodation is warm and comfortable yet stylish, very well thought out and to a very high standard. we felt as though we were treated as old friends who had dropped by to stay for a few days, despite the single night booking and all our cumbersome jackets, boots helmets etc, with greatly appreciated advice on routes and things to do and see.
We now have to plan a return trip in order to really explore this interesting area and experience more of Penny and Adrian’s welcoming hospitality.
