Pension Kitty is a great location as a base for the many events in the Region of Worthersee. So many activities in the area - Salsa Weekends, Half Marathons, Bike Training, Tennis Championships, Iron Man, Harley Davidson Rally, GTI, Pink Lake, Vintage Car, Festivals - the list is endless!
Lake Worthersee lies in the southern most county of Austria, Carinthia, boarding both Italy and Slovenia. The region enjoys the influence of a Mediterranean climate resulting in short winters and long hot summers. The Lake warms to a very comfortable 27 degrees so swimming in its clear, clean waters morning, noon and night is possible.
Out of the Austrian Lakes Worthersee is the most famous with the village of Portschach having a central location between the historic towns of Klagenfurt and Villach. Although termed a village Portschach has a selection of boutique shops, bars and restaurants.If you enjoy watersports then this area is just perfect with water skiing, sailing, banana boats and water slides... something for everyone. A regular boat service runs between late April and early October allowing you to explore the many highlights of the Lake in the most leisurely of styles!
The nearby town of Velden adds a touch of sophistication to any visit to Worthersee with the Velden Casino a must for anyone who enjoys a spin of the tables! If you enjoy history both Klangenfurt and Villach have much to offer, both easily accessible by train or road, and of course we have the many churches and castles in the area.
