The Clifton’s privileged location on Shanklin’s cliff top offers an amazing sea view and makes us an ideal retreat for those in search of peace and tranquillity. With just 15 rooms we are small, but perfectly formed, and have a 4-star VisitEngland rating. In 2015 we were upgraded to VisitEngland’s Silver Award.
Our Bistro, with stunning views of Shanklin Bay, offers an intriguing menu and a daily specials board with fresh fish. Or sit in the warm Isle of Wight sunshine in our beautiful garden and delight in the uninterrupted sea view. Refreshments such as cream tea with our homemade scones, or cakes, are served throughout the day.
The garden leads onto the Isle of Wight Coastal Path. We are within easy reach of many cycling routes on the island. We have a good collection of maps and books to help you plan and a covered storage shed in which to keep your bike. We are also able to furnish details of a local cycle company who offer a delivery and pick-up service for their rented bicycles.
Our bedrooms range from single rooms to a Premier Balcony Suite and a Family Suite. As the Clifton is a small hotel with no suitable facilities for young children, children of 10 years and over only are welcome as guests.
